The Consoling Ministries provide sensitive care for the sick and dying for your loved ones. Consoling Ministries are divided into two groups:
A. Ministry to the Sick
On behalf of the faith community, this group visits the sick and dying and brings the reserved Hosts to them for spiritual nourishment. Members of this group are also Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Depending on the spiritual condition of the homebound, these ministers may ask the priests to come for the sacrament of Reconciliation or spiritual direction.
B. Funeral Preparation and After Care
If the family wants to have the funeral Mass at St. Mary Magdalene, this group will assist the family in planning for the Resurrection Liturgy in collaboration with the funeral home and St. Mary Magdalene staff. After the Mass, this group also will organize a memorial Mass on All Souls Day for all the parishioners that have died in the past year.
