Formation
Liturgical ministers receive Diocesan Formation, through the workshops offered for each ministry, and Parish Formation, through practical training in each ministry here at SMM. Ministers should attend the Parish Minister Formation Program (PMFP) offered by the San Bernardino Diocese. Ministers also attend the parish Advent and Lenten Retreats. Liturgy Committee members read and study the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and apply lessons learned to their ministries.
History
Father Vincent Au and the past Lifelong Formation Coordinator Claudia Avila formed the liturgy committee in January 2012. For the first year, we met each month, spending time in each gathering for prayer, formation and planning. In 2013, we decided to meet as a committee from January-April and November-December to execute planning for our Christmas and Easter seasons and meet within our ministries from May-October to work within our individual ministries, meeting the needs for our regular weekly liturgies.
